The Way To My Soul Tree
62Grand Western Canal, Devon
Originally work by Lou Purplefairy 2002
Living channel, with fans of reeds
Winding your way through the natural quilt,
Love glistens on your green waters,
Life above, and below the black silt.
Fish encapsulated on the aquatic road
Send bubble messages, rippling through
The surface tension, and ripples flow
In spherical motion for universal view.
The land on either side, stoic, vast,
Obscures the canal with its minding trees
Mocking the world as they stand protecting
The still water, with the help of the breeze.
A Lone swan, waits upon the bank,
Its mate absent, away, but still it waits
For the other's return from a far off land,
Separated by the winds of fate.
And as I walk the towpath so well known,
To visit my ancient soul with arms abound,
I gasp as I take in the visions about me
Love and Beauty sewn in the ground.
